My name is Laveal David Jones. I was born March 1975, in the streets of the inner city St. Louis.
From an early age, I was Inspired by my Grandmother, Josephine Jones, one of St. Louis’ top seamstresses. But my life took a few unexpected detours. With a troubled life, I found myself looking for something to grasp hold to. After being in prison, I finally got the chance to see one of my children walk across that stage and graduate, tears streaming down my face. I knew then I had found my anchor, my source of energy. It was, and forever will be my children. I was called back to my grandmother's house, back to those childhood days. And there I fell in love with my dreams. I fell in love with gift for fashion.
Trials and tribulations have blessed me with a great testimony.
God gave me a story and a great gift, and both of these things are giving me the chance to touch the lives of current youth, and the current generation. One of my primary goals consist of a School or training facility for youth in the sense of creative arts. Prison allowed me to see that this wasn’t the life I wanted for others. That wasn't the life I wanted for my children, or anyones child. I wanted every one of them to know that YOU CAN DO IT if you put your mind to it.
Instilling in my kids to do the same, I'm glad someone was able to touch my life. I will continue to encourage others to follow their dreams, because at the end of the day, our dreams and our family are all we have.
